It's been centuries since in irish mythology and folklore the figure of the Banshee appeared, from bean (woman) and sidhe (fairy): an evil fairy, whose nocturnal wailing announces death to a member of the family she is bound to. Many assert having seen female figures roaming in the valleys and woods of Ireland, dressed in rags with terrifying vermilion eyes, many say having heard melanchonic dirges come from the darkness of forests. According to the legend the dismal chant of the Banshee induces a state of trance, a rapture the victim cannot avoid, a catatonic condition that inevitably ends with death. The baleful notes travel on the wind's wings through lowlands, along streams, a howl rises to the moon and a life ends, but she will carry on, on full moon nights, singing her chant....
